The 28-foot high by 40-foot long planted wall is a striking transitional space that leads patrons from the bustling Academy into a serene dining space. The idea for the Moss Wall came when we were faced with the challenge of attracting people down to the basement --a space not initially intended for public use.  It was important to us to create a space that was representative of our client --and to do so in a way that preserved/elevated the Academy's sustainable design practices.The Moss Wall communicates our client’s appreciation of nature, and serves several environmental and educational purposes.

Project Description:

Part of our greater vision for the dining venues within the California Academy of Sciences, the Moss Room is a serene escape from the otherwise teeming Academy environment.
