Architectural Digest: economic indicator?

2009…

Conde Nast is getting into the bad habit of serving as an economic indicator. According to Architectural Digest, 2008 was a.o.k. 2009? Less so, unless you’re an advertiser. At least the weight-savings will enable waiting rooms to stock up on old issues of Men’s Health and In Touch.
here’s another economic indicator:

Dear Confused Editor:
It appears that we both enjoy singing from the same song sheet. Any business owner in todays financial climate would not miss any opportunity to advance their business. As Picasso’s wife, Jacqueline, once said to my Mother when she (Mrs P) grabbed a sketch the Maestro had just done for her “my husband does this for money!” Well confused editor I also do this for money…and if I want to quote myself a second time as I did in the response to the Q and A for Architectural Digest (we were instructed to have fun with answers) I will. Please see my last answer referencing Thomas Jefferson. Now I never had the pleasure of meeting him but I think he would have approved of my snickering aside about him. Now confused editor you will just have to go back and read the rest of my answers. Enjoy the rest of your life. Allan Reyes
Touche, Allan, touche. More power to you if you can more fully leverage the Architectural Digest article into commissions. I am very sympathetic to economic challenges; I just happen to like (understandable) commercial ambition a bit more when it’s accompanied with a bit of candor.
Incidentally, I assume you meant to comment on this post: Early vacation for Architectural Digest editorial staff?
